Wilderness Wednesdays

Get regulated, build skills and have fun outdoors or bring the outdoors in!

New activities will be added regularly, so keep an eye out.

Let’s go for a walk!

The task for this week is to Get Our Stomp On! Let’s go for a walk, and why not add a hop, skip and jump. This can be done outside, inside your home or in the garden. There are so many benefits that you can gain from this. It has many relaxing elements to it and also helps with concentration and helps to improve our mood, making us feeling happier and calmer.  Take note of all the lovely things you see.

Zones of Regulation

Calming Activities

Move from yellow zone to green zone: Different strategies work for different people, so you need to find the ones that work for you.  Here are some to try.   Try each strategy a few times because it takes us a while to get used to doing something new.  If it still doesn't help, try a different strategy.   BREATHE Fun  Serious   STRETCH Fun Play this one at 0.75 speed: Serious IMAGINE Fun Serious ANIMALS RELAXING VISUALS MUSCLE RELAXATION Fun Serious TRAVEL
